Built pre-1881, this beautiful and recently restored three-bedroom cottage is reputed to be the original surveyor’s cottage from the Blue Spur township in Gabriel’s Gully. Old photos show the cottage at its present site in 1881. It is nestled quietly in an exquisite cottage garden which attracts many birds, including the Wood Pigeon and tui.
It has a room attached to the back of the cottage called the ‘dog house’ which is ideal for summer reading and games or to keep bikes safe.
The cottage is fully self-contained with free Wifi, off street parking, dishwasher, washing machine and dryer plus heating via a wonderful wood burner and a large heat pump. There are electric blankets on every bed and separate winter / summer duvets. Cook in either the well-appointed kitchen or BBQ in the garden surrounded by perfumed roses, the choice is yours.
The cottage is within an easy stroll of the shops and cafes of Lawrence, an historic gold mining town established in 1861.
The Pickled Pigeon has a Silver Qualmark accreditation
